Plot Twist: Jewish Joy! - In-person Program

Jewish stories are about so much more than trauma. Join us for a quarterly book club and lively discussion exploring Jewish history, identity, culture, and memory through books that celebrate Jewish joy, love, humor, resistance, resilience, community, and survival. Together, we’ll share perspectives, make connections, and explore how the stories on the page reflect our own lives and experiences.

Our first book will be One Hundred Saturdays: Stella Levy and the Search for a Lost World by Michael Frank.

Whether you’re a seasoned book club regular or simply looking for a reason to pick up something new and meet fellow readers, you’re welcome here. Come ready to share your thoughts, hear different perspectives, laugh, disagree, and maybe discover your next favorite book.

This book club meets quarterly in person at the Center for Jewish History (upcoming sessions on February 16, May 25, and July 20). Space is limited, so reserve your spot and join the conversation!

Please note: You do not need to be a 3G (third-generation descendant of Holocaust survivors) to participate. While some discussions will explore experiences and perspectives specific to 3Gs and descendants of Holocaust survivors, we welcome anyone interested in engaging with these conversations.

Ticket Info: Free; registration required.
